– Characters/backgrounds/other art elements haven’t been changed much from the PS2 version
– Improved load times

– Game is based off the PS2’s US version

– Team is being careful not to add in too much
– Will have the same feel of play control as the PS2 version more or less

“…From our internal testing we have been incredibly surprised at what the little system can do. From a strictly visual point-of-view, it is impressive. We are able to pull off many advanced lighting and texture techniques much more easily than on the Wii. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t a cost to doing them, only that they can be done more easily. We do have 3DS kits, we are working on a number of different ideas, and we are definitely excited about what this system means to the industry.”
We know that High Voltage is working on a shooter for the 3DS – which will most likely end up as a Conduit game. I’m sure the company will have other projects to unveil in the future as well.

Nintendo confirms day one launch line-up for Nintendo 3DS
8th February 2010 – The Nintendo 3DS system will see one of the strongest ever software line-ups for a new console when it makes its European debut on 25th March 2011, with thirteen full 3D games available on day one. Whether you are a fan of adventure games, beat ‘em-ups, or something a bit more relaxed, the launch games for Nintendo 3DS will offer something for everyone.
Why not start your Nintendo 3DS adventure by visiting the iconic Wuhu Island in Pilotwings Resort, where you are firmly in the pilot’s seat. Use your Mii characters from the Nintendo 3DS system’s Mii Maker application and explore Wuhu Island by plane, hang glider and/or rocket belt. Each vehicle type features unique controls that offer a different challenge. Complete around 40 challenging flight missions in Mission Mode to earn stars, or scour Wuhu Island for hundreds of collectible Extras in Free Flight Mode as you unlock interactive 3D Dioramas of various aircraft and famous island monuments.

There’s a couple of things in particular you should pay attention to in the video above. First, it shows that you can use the analog pad to control DS titles. Second, as we previously reported, there’s a rather larger border on the top screen while playing the DS games.

I can’t say I’ve played a ton of Virtua Tennis over the years, so I’m not exactly clamoring for a 3DS edition. Is this something you guys would like to see?
Nintendo doesn’t want gamers to compare 3DS battery life to other systems

“3DS is a unique product, so […] comparisons to other portable devices aren’t always applicable. If you look at other high-resolution portable devices, which is probably a better comparison than other portable gaming systems, three to five hours of intensive use is not an unreasonable battery life.”
Well, at the very least, I’d say it’s difficult not to compare the 3DS’ battery life to previous DS systems. I feel as though the 3DS is taking a huge step back. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo released a 3DS Lite version sometime in the future with improved battery life.
