This week’s Famitsu review scores are as follows:

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (PS3/360) – 10/9/10/10
Samurai Warrior: Chronicle 2nd (3DS) – 9/9/9/8
Medabots 7 (3DS) – 8/8/7/7
Axel World (PS3) – 7/7/7/7
Axel World (PSP) – 7/7/7/7
Elminage Ibun: Ame no Mihashira (PSP) – 6/6/5/6

Even though Famitsu reviewed the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, that high score is great news for Nintendo fans. The Wii U will be getting its own edition of the fighter later this year, so if the score above can be trusted, it’ll be a nice addition to the console’s lineup of titles.

Ace Attorney 5, otherwise known as Gyakuten Saiban 5, is coming to Nintendo’s latest portable. This week’s Famitsu reveals that the game is in the works for the 3DS.

Based on what’s leaked out so far, it seems that you’ll be playing out as Phoenix Wright. It’s a fresh start for players. It also looks like there’s a mysterious new female partner with a yellow dress.

As promised, Famitsu has a look at Capcom’s full slate of games this week – including Monster Hunter 4. The magazine published a report on a new weapon, the “hunting insect”.

Head on below to read about this new weapon, along with other details.

– Use the weapon by marking a target monster
– Release the insect and it’ll head out to the monster and suck up its energy
– When you call the insect back, it’ll use what it collected to strengthen your character
– The “energy” the insect sucks up is called “EX” (or EXE)
– The property it strengthens is indicated by its color
– White: increases speed
– Red: increases attack strength
– Green: increases vitality
– Orange: increases defensive strength
– Hunting insects can jump
– They could reach areas that you can’t
– Goa Magara: A new monster that is a major part of the story, more details later
– Step Actions: When you find height differences in the land, you can run through these to make your character jump; while in mid air, you can perform attacks
– Synthesis: Your two partner Felynes can team up for a group attack

Naruto SD Powerful Shippuden will come out in Japan on November 29, Namco Bandai announced today. It will cost 5,230 yen.

Those who pre-order Naruto SD can receive the case pictured above. The accessory can hold up to three 3DS titles.

Perhaps my favorite thing that exists in the world is irony, and while I know this story doesn’t actually “mean” anything tangible, it has about as much of the stuff as you could cram into anything particularly related to video games. Why? The actor portraying Sony’s great marketing icon “Kevin Butler” is appearing in a Bridgestone advertisement that contains a tie-in with the Wii.

It’s not clear to me whether this is a contest or a promotion or something less significant, but it is- for what it’s worth- ironic.
