Fire Emblem: Awakening will have a marriage system, as has been revealed in the second edition of Iwata Asks: Fire Emblem Awakening.

Director Genki Yokota and producer Hitoshi Yamagami were in agreement that adding in this element came from the idea of love of the characters being a major theme for this project. The marriage gameplay in Fire Emblem Seisen no Keifu left a big impression on Yamagami.

Fire Emblem: Awakening offers more couple combinations than ever before. Players can marry any ally or “My Unit” character. Special graphics were made for proposals, and Andriasang reports that some staff “even suggested that they make kiss faces for all the characters.”

Update 2: Looks like I was right the first time! You can download this demo right now if you’re in Japan.

Update: Demo release date updated and contents confirmed!

Tecmo Koei and Nintendo delivered a surprise on the Japanese eShop today. Users can download a demo for Dynasty Warriors Vs. later this month.

The trial takes up nearly 1,000 blocks and can be tested ten times apparently.

Don’t quote me on this just yet, but I believe the demo offers some tutorial, single-player, and local multiplayer gameplay.

Famitsu has an update on Project Zero 2: Wii Edition this week, which includes new gameplay inclusions and a release date.

According to the magazine, the game will feature a “Haunted House” mode. This has players progressing through a haunted mansion, as you would expect. A rating will be provided at the end of your journey, which is based on the amount of fear you encountered.

Famitsu also mentions enhanced graphics and new controls for the PlayStation 2 remake.

Project Zero 2: Wii Edition is scheduled for June 28. It’ll cost 6,800 yen. The title is also due out in Europe/Australia this year.

There’s been a rumor going around that the Wii U will launch in North America on November 18. I’ve been careful not to post such speculation here as the original source is extremely dubious.

However, IGN believes they’ve obtained a piece of evidence that supports the rumor.

The photo above comes from an email sent by a GameStop Regional Manager. IGN says it “seems to support the notion that the Wii U very well might release on November 18 as speculated.”

Not so fast. If you look at the title of the email, it says, “Wii U North American and Japanese Release Date Leaked?” It appears that this person was merely basing the content of his message off of the original speculation.

I don’t get the impression that he/she has any insider knowledge. What do you guys think?
