Reminder: It’s tonight! I’ll have to cut things a bit short due to TGS, however. We’ll see how much gaming we can get in. And don’t forget it starts at 7:30!

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do Game Night next Friday, but I should be good to go for this week’s event. This time around, I’m aiming to start at around 7:30 PM EDT. If that doesn’t sound alright with you, let me know by posting a comment. Also, if anything changes, I’ll be sure to post an update on the site.

We’re inside the one hour mark! By the end of the night, we’ll know about all of the 3DS announcements Nintendo has in store. Will new games be revealed? Will the Circle Pad accessory look less bulky than it appears now? Will a system revision be unveiled? We’ll find out the answers to these questions and more soon…

I’ll be posting a live-stream of the conference once we hit the thirty minute mark.

Today (or rather tonight) is the big day! Actually, this could end up being the second biggest day of the year for Nintendo fans. Nintendo will be making at least a few announcements in a few hours and will show fans what they have in store for the 3DS.

Before the site experiences some (planned) downtime, I figured now would be a great time to remind everyone about the week ahead.

Starting tomorrow at 11 PM EDT / 8 PM PDT, Nintendo will be hosting their “3DS Conference”. Although it will be live-streamed, I assume that all of the proceedings will be in Japanese… so you’ll probably want to check on the site for information, along with any trailers/images that are released once the conference ends. We’ll surely see more of Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Monster Hunter Tri G. There could be a few new announcements as well… and Nintendo has some explaining to do about their new Circle Pad attachment (it hasn’t even been officially announced)!

Later in the week, the 2011 Tokyo Game Show begins. It seems like practically every Japanese publishers will be represented. Namco Bandai, Team Ninja, SEGA, Capcom, and Kojima Productions are just some of the companies that have stage shows and announcements lined up.

And on top of Nintendo’s conference and TGS, we should also be getting a brand new look at Zelda: Skyward Sword from Game Informer. In addition to a ton of details and screenshots, there will also be new footage of the title posted to the magazine’s website.

So if you’re a Nintendo fan, you’ll definitely want to visit the site a few times next week. I’m just hoping we don’t experience any downtime. Right now I’m not too worried!

We’ve completed some planned maintenance a short while ago, but more work is planned for tomorrow. So don’t be surprised if the site goes down for a few hours!

We want to make sure things are a-okay for the big week ahead which starts on Monday. Last year, everything pretty much died while Nintendo’s Fall 2011 conference was going on…

Reminder: It’s tonight!

Game Night is once again scheduled for Friday night. You guys know the deal: it’ll kick off at 8 PM EDT.

I’m aware that some of you requested an earlier start time last week. I’m not entirely sure that I can accomodate this request due to my rather hectic schedule. But I’d like to hear suggestions on: a) when you would like to see Game Night start and b) which games you’re interested in playing.

Thus far, the 3DS’ path has been far from what anyone could have predicted. The system started off with a rather high price point and a dearth of must-have software. Just a few weeks ago, Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS by $80. I doubt anyone would have expected a price cut so soon after the handheld launched. It also lacked a second analog controller… but Nintendo is “sort of” rectifying that issue now.

Everyone pointed and laughed at the idea of a second circle pad attachment for the 3DS when 01Net originally reported on the rumor. Most Nintendo fans assumed that the idea was ridiculous and that the site’s speculation was completely unfounded… rightfully so. Yet, a couple of hours ago, we received confirmation that Nintendo is developing the “Expansion Slide Pad” for the 3DS.

We actually don’t know much about the attachment. What we do know is that it’s a bit bulky and it’s more than a simple-add on. As you can see in this photo, it’s actually a completely new unit that attaches onto the system.

The last six months have bit extremely odd for the 3DS – again, there’s been an underwhelming launch, a quick price drop, and now a strange second slide pad for the system.

What’s next? Will Nintendo release an updated handheld with the extra slide pad built-in?

In any case, it’s time for you guys to sound off. I’m quite curious about some of the reactions you guys have regarding the 3DS Expansion Slide Pad!
