Retailers may not get Fire Emblem: Awakening until later this week due to shipping issues

Fire Emblem: Awakening officially launches tomorrow. However, it sounds like most retailers won’t have stock available until later in the week.

Some of the more well-known retailers in North America have said that Awakening has seen shipping delays. There are Best Buys claiming that they won’t have stock until Wednesday while GameStop may not be able to sell copies until Friday. Amazon’s product page also contains a notice that “manufacturer shipping delays” could affect pre-orders.

If you’re desperate to play Fire Emblem: Awakening, you could always purchase the game through the 3DS eShop. It should be going live on the digital store later tonight.

Is this concept art from Monolith Kyoto’s 3DS project?

Monolith Soft’s “X” was revealed during a Nintendo Direct a little over a week ago. This isn’t the company’s only new project in development, however.

In an interview posted on Monolith’s site, Yasuyuki Honne – director of the Baten Kaitos games – stated that its Kyoto studio is continuing to look for staffers. 3D CG effect designers, motion designers, and 3D map modelers are wanted.

For those who are unaware, Monolith posses three divisions. Monolith Tokyo is making “X”. There’s also another team that previously developed Project X Zone. Monolith Kyoto is the final group.

When we last heard about Monolith Soft Kyoto, the studio was hiring for a secret 3DS game. We’re assuming this latest staff recruitment is related.

In a Facebook page promoting the new positions available at its Kyoto office, Monolith attached the image above. Is it a piece of concept art from the new 3DS title?

Super Mario 3D Land outpacing Super Mario Galaxy through first 13 months

Super Mario 3D Land is, thus far, having more success than Super Mario Galaxy. 3D Land sold through 8 million copies while Galaxy moved 7.66 million units through their first 13 months on the market.

Japan could be pointed to as the primary reason for Super Mario 3D Land’s success. However, 3D Land sold 1.85 million copies in Japan whereas Galaxy’s sales stood at 934,000.

Galaxy has sold slightly more in the west. But thanks to sales from Japan, 3D Land is outpacing Galaxy worldwide.

Amazon: Tales of the Abyss for $30

Amazon has Tales of the Abyss 3DS in stock for $30. It’s not extremely rare, but the game has been a somewhat tough find over the past few months. Plus, it’s a great game – I’ve played through the entire thing and would absolutely recommend it (though it’s not for everyone!).

Fantasy Life to gain online play, new quests, and more through paid DLC this year

Level-5 has big plans for Fantasy Life in 2013. Despite releasing the game last year, new content is coming to the Japanese title in the future.

Players can look forward to online play, a level cap raise, brand new quests, world changes, and more through DLC. Pricing and release date information for the downloadable content has not been announced.
