DSi firmware update is live

Posted on 15 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 1 Comment

Just a quick reminder to the folks in North America – The DSi firmware update can now be downloaded. For those who are unclear about the update, upgrading your system will allow you to upload any photos from your DSi right onto Facebook. Reportedly, this update will also cause the DSi to lose compatibility with flash cards. So upgrade at your own risk!

Free New Integration Lets Users Upload Photos to Their Facebook Profiles

REDMOND, Wash., Aug. 3, 2009 – Starting today, Nintendo DSi™ owners have even more ways to share their experiences with friends and family. While reviewing pictures they’ve stored in the Nintendo DSi Camera album, which includes photos taken by users and manipulated using the built-in interactive lenses, users can simply tap the Facebook icon on the system’s touch screen to instantly transmit photos to the user’s Facebook profile. The user’s system must be configured to a wireless broadband Internet connection for the transmission of photos.

The onset of August means summer is winding down, but the downloadable action at the Wii™ Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop™ just keeps on heating up. Two new WiiWare™ offerings deliver futuristic robot foes and sultry poker opponents, respectively. On the Virtual Console™, there’s great news for football fans as the arcade classic TECMO BOWL™ makes its way to the Wii system.
