DS

Wii Sports Resort

– It’ll sell a lot
– They’ve all had a chance to play it
– Only 1 or 2 duds
– Craig doesn’t like cycling
– Just sit there and drum the controllers for cycling
– Some games clearly not MotionPlus
– Airplane game probably not using the attachment (if it does, probably for the hell of it)
– The airplane game still feels good…Makes Craig want Pilotwings
– Have noticed a lot of drift – As you’re playing it gets out of calibration
– Can push down on d-pad with sword fighting for calibration – Not ideal
– Weird that this is sort of the revision 2 of the Wiimote and we still have to deal with these issues
– Don’t have as much control in frisbee golf compared to the dog-throwing mode
– Matt really enjoying archery – gives you a really long range (depth) to the course – Get a taste, then you wish it isn’t as shallow
– Wind should play a bigger factor in archery
– Wii Sports Bowling is the same game

Much like the GTA franchise, Kingdom Hearts titles have launched on both the Game Boy Advance and DS, yet there has never been a release for a Nintendo console. But perhaps that could change in the future. Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura, speaking with Nintendo Power in the July edition of the magazine, addressed the possibility of bringing the series to the Wii in some form – and nothing was ruled out. Nomura said that “Once the projects I am involved with have settled to a point, there might be some room to consider that.” For the moment though, he said he has a lot on his plate.

Interestingly, Nomura shared that Nintendo had approached him and presumably other members of Square Enix to create a Kingdom Hearts game for the DS. That’s one of the reasons why work began on 358/2 Days. So maybe if Nintendo used a similar strategy for a Kingdom Hearts Wii title, Nomura could be influenced.

Renegade Kid, the famed developers behind the technically impressive titles Moon and Dementium, have revealed a brand new 3D platformer for the Nintendo DS. First video, details and screenshots below.

– Runs 60 FPS
– Take on role of Maximillian – meteor crashes, neighborhood taken over by Mudds
– Max builds tools including water gun + backpack -> can double-jump between platforms
– Water bombs and other gadgets available later in the game
– Trying to take out Mudds
– Control Max with d-pad, jump with A, X to shoot water
– Camera centers behind Max while turning, but can use free look with touch screen
– L/R buttons used for first-person view, then aim with d-pad
– Project is very early on
– No publisher yet
– Might head to DSiWare, might be retail release, or both
