SOUTHPEAK UNVEILS X-BLADES, VELVET ASSASSIN, AND ROOGOO TITLES AT NEW YORK COMIC CON
Exclusive Demos, Trailers, Tournaments and More Planned
MIDLOTHIAN, VA – February 2, 2009 – SouthPeak Games today announced its plans for the New York Comic Con show on February 6-8, 2009. Located at Booth 1349, SouthPeak will display some of their upcoming 2009 titles with both hands-on demos and producer-led demonstrations, along with special trailers featuring never before seen game footage.
Several members from the anime-inspired X-Blades development team will be present, along with Melinda Cohen, the model and in-game voice talent for Violette Summer in Velvet Assassin. Ninjatown creator Shawn Smith will have a signing session on Saturday from 2-3pm. In addition to an early look at the sci-fi FPS Section 8, Comic Con will also mark the first time that the new Roogoo titles – Roogoo Twisted Towers for Wii™ and Roogoo Attack! for Nintendo DS™ – will be on public display. SouthPeak is also coordinating an X-Blades tournament at the show where players will compete to win a rare figurine of Ayumi, the heroine from the game.
Bob’s Game campaign taken to Nintendo World Store

The actions of Robert Pelloni, the creator of Bob’s Game, have been well-documented for the last few months. Sure, his behavior has been questionable, but he has not pulled a stunt like he did at the Nintendo World Store most recently. Robert and a few cohorts posted signs on the edifice and inside of the building, placed fake cases on shelves, and threw some business cards on the floor.
Robert was asked to leave a few times, but he claimed he simply wanted to purchase a DS and play his game. All of this comes on the 50th day of his apparently 100-day protest. This is, of course, not a smart way to persuade Nintendo to give in and supply Robert with a development kit. If anything, Bob’s Game has taken quite a few steps back in regards to arriving on the DS.

Iwata: Wii can pass install base of PS2, E3 2009 software shown will help to achieve goal
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News, Wii | 6 Comments
“What we are looking at are the cumulative Wii and DS sales through the end of 2008. Wii has been selling at industry’s record pace so far, and with new customers acquired by the gaming population expansion efforts, it is not impossible for Wii’s total sales to exceed the final install base of PS2. Wii still has much more room for expansion. We can expect more sales of software in the next fiscal year than in the current year. With what kind of software is Nintendo going to achieve this goal? Well, it will be shown at E3 to be held in the U.S. this June.”
Okay, so who wants to start guessing what software will be present at this year’s E3? I’m not entirely sure myself, but at least we know Nintendo will probably have a more exciting show this year than they did last year.
