DmC Devil May Cry and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West developer Ninja Theory is working on Disney Infinity 2.0, executive producer John Vignocchi revealed during the Giant Bomb PAX Prime 2014 panel last night. Ninja Theory is bringing its juggle-based combat to the franchise. In terms of characters, the studio worked on Green Goblin, Ronan, and Jasmine.

Vinocchi was later asked during the panel when Disney Infinity: Star Wars (3.0 Edition) will be announced. He said in response: “It won’t be that far, far away”.

Pokken Tournament was announced a few days ago, which wasn’t all too shocking given the teaser image we saw last August. What was a bit surprising, however, was that the game was only confirmed for arcades.

But don’t worry just yet! During Famitsu’s stream, Pokemon president Tsunekazu Ishihara was asked about the decision to make an arcade game. Bulbagarden points out, “The way Ishihara phrased his answer, talking about doing arcade first, does suggest that Pokkén will eventually come to console.”

Wii U, anyone?! I know I could see something like that happening!

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

In last week’s issue of Famitsu, Masahiro Sakurai wrote a new column that goes into detail about the debugging process with games. Although nothing earth-shattering was revealed about the new Smash Bros., it’s quite an interesting read (though there is some Smash talk).

We’ve finally managed to put up a translation of Sakurai’s column. Head past the break to read it in full.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime spoke about a few different topics in a recent interview.

First, regarding the initial wave of Amiibo figures, he stated:

“We wanted to make sure that the breadth of characters we had for the initial ‘amiibo’ line-up supported the fan favorites, as well as showcase the variety of people Nintendo speaks to — from kids to adults. For example, you’ve got a character like Marth from the ‘Fire Emblem’ series. We thought exposing Marth to a wider collection of consumers through ‘amiibo’ made a ton of sense, but, of course, we had to have Mario, Princess Peach and Donkey Kong in that initial line-up, as well.”

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will make use of all Wii U and Wii controllers in multiplayer/co-op, according to producer Stephen Frost.

Frost confirmed on Twitter today:

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi held a panel at PAX Prime 2014 today. Sakaguchi mentioned that it would be nice to work on a continuation of The Last Story (or Blue Dragon/Lost Odyssey), although nothing is happening behind the scenes currently.

At one point, Sakaguchi was specifically asked if there’s a chance of a new The Last Story. He responded in English: “Ok, yeah, you talk to Nintendo.” The audience cheered and applauded when the panel’s moderator asked who would like to see a sequel on Wii U, and Sakaguchi again added: “And maybe PlayStation 4 too?”

Sakaguchi may not have been too serious throughout all of this. He was laughing, and could have just been teasing the audience.

Other than The Last Story, Sakaguchi was also asked about which systems he plans on working with. One of his comments stated that Nintendo always keeps people on their toes when it comes to new hardware announcements. Additionally, Sakaguchi is looking forward to the New 3DS and hopes to have a chance to work on the platform.
