Today, Nintendo of Europe is showcasing a variety of new and exciting WiiWare & Nintendo DSiWare games from both Nintendo & third party developers, which will be available to download through the Wii Shop Channel & Nintendo DSi Shop in the coming months.

WiiWare launched last year and has enabled many smaller developers to take centre stage, creating Wii games that players can easily access and play. With the launch of the Nintendo DSi having taken place across Europe on 3rd April 2009, users can for the first time download fresh new games directly to their console via the Nintendo DSi Shop and store them on their Nintendo DSi which comes with its own built-in memory. This new range of software is called Nintendo DSiWare and will offer the opportunity for developers to create an ever-expanding and fresh range of fun games and applications to be made available for the Nintendo DSi.

Alten8 Limited is pleased to announce its soon to be released WiiWare Game SQUIBS ARCADE for release in Q2 2009.

We are pleased that we have the opportunity to showcase the game at the WiiWare Media Summit being held on the 7th and 8th of April 2009 at the NOE headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.

SQUIBS ARCADE is a collection of Games, which initially were based on the old style of LCD games. This germ of an idea then grew into a much bigger concept. SQUIBS ARCADE takes inspiration from the current generation of AAA titles, distilling the game play to its most fundamental form, and re-imagining them with the style and passion of the classic LCD games. The titles within SQUIBS ARCADE are – Clown, Gun Cogs, Crowd Wader, Button Basher, Fantasy Turn Base, Call of Honour, Jack-a-motor, Lots of Levelling, Cardboard Axel Mush, We’re Fat, and Regret the Fist. The game titles being both homages and parodies of the games which inspired them. Alten8 believes that SQUIBS ARCADE will appeal to both casual game players, but also hardcore game fans, who will recognise the tributes Alten8 is paying to their favourite games, and also enjoy the genuine addictive game play to be found in SQUIBS ARCADE.

Gamers keeping track of The Conduit know that the title will support 16 players online and will support modes such as Deathmatch. However, High Voltage Software has yet to reveal how many multiplayer modes will actually be present in the game. However, a rumor has surfaced which gives insight regarding how many modes should be expected.

The following translated information was posted in a recent MeriStation article/preview about the The Conduit:

The multiplayer games via the Wii’s online is key for The Conduit. Players will find a wide range of options for play and access to an automatic searching system for games. In total, there will be 16 players online simultaneously and seven modes of different games, among them “Deathmatch” and “Capture the Flag.”

“The system of matchmaking continues its development and we are very happy with it’s evolution. Now we are introducing more content in multiplayer to extend playability and its duration.” – development team

Regardless of the validity of these details, it is expected that an official press release from SEGA will explain all of the game’s online capabilities in the near future.
