Wii

For months now, there have been rumors bumbling about that Factor 5 is currently developing Kid Icarus for Wii. There have been a bunch of unconfirmed reports, but nothing official. A recent tidbit in the the latest IGN Nintendo Voicechat podcast, however, seems to confirm that the company is could be truly developing the  the title. When asked if he was concerned about Kid Icarus since Factor 5 said their next game would be casual, Matt Casamassina replied with, “That does concern me a little bit…I think we’ve said that, haven’t we [Factor 5 developing Kid Icarus]? If we haven’t said it, we’re saying it now…I mean come on, it’s no big secret to anybody.”

Doubts about Kid Icarus on the Wii began to perculate last month, when the game was a no-show at Nintendo’s E3 showing. However, since then, news has been reported that Nintendo’s policy includes not showing many hardcore titles at E3, and when games are ready to be revealed, fans will see the titles at the appropriate venue.

Personally, I usually don’t consider most things official until we see press releases, but this is the closest thing we’ve heard about in awhile, and is perhaps the closest thing to a confirmation.

Fatal Frame 4
– Controls are “retarded” – just as clunky as other versions if not worse
– No dual analog
– Doesn’t use pointer at all to look up and down
– Can’t use classic controller
– Nintendo-themed unlockable characters
– Movement is still slow
– Game itself is still spooky, Matt thinks he’ll still have fun with it
– Looks really nice graphically

Cursed Mountain
– Big development team
– About a brother who goes to Himalayas, you track him down
– Haven’t seen screens or movies
– Comes out next year

Rock Band Track Pack 1

– 20 new songs been previously made on the other systems – You technically save $10
– Standalone disc, boots on its own

– Scheduled for August (Japan)
– Motion controls used to tilt table
– Too much Wiimote shaking will cause the table to freeze + tilt
– Different kinds of pinballs – Burst Ball (extra damage), Split ball (makes two balls)
– Cost: 800 Wii Points
– DLC incoming – power-ups, tables, and more

Somewhat of a problem began after the announcement of Wii MotionPlus. There were people who were concerned about having to purchase yet another add-on just to play certain games, and especially those looking for the multiplayer experience. However, perhaps some of those qualms can become mitigated now. Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata spoke encouragingly about Wii MotionPlus, noting that the accessory will be very affordable. “There will be games that will be enhanced by the Wii Motion Plus as well as games that can only be played with it. Users will need four if they have four controllers, but we’re going to try to offer it for as little as possible. We haven’t announced the price yet, but the cost of making the Wii Motion Plus is not that much, so I think we can make it very affordable.”

Oh, and as far as new accessories go – Iwata has already released the ones he originally was considering, but if any new ones are thought of, he wouldn’t rule out releasing them.

– Releasing this Winter in Japan
– The game is essentially a mini-game collection
– 50 ‘real-life’ jobs – EX: Pick vegetables from the ground, become an interpreter
– Currently, no news on a US release
