Monster Hunter Tri director not discussing the future of the series on Wii for now
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
“Is this a Sony versus Nintendo question? Because I don’t want to get into that. We wanted to bring Monster Hunter to a new audience, and since Wii gamers are from a broad range this opportunity excites us. As for bringing more Monster Hunters to the Wii, we prefer to see a project through to absolute completion before we think about what’s next, and even though Monster Hunter Tri launched last year in Japan and is about to launch here, there is still much we can bring to the game, with it being so heavily network-based.” – director Kaname Fujioka
It’s strange that Mr. Fujioka had a reaction like that since the question seemed harmless! Although, I suppose it is too soon to begin talking about another Monster Hunter for consoles. I’m sure it’s going to be a long time before we hear anything concrete.

Kamiya very interested in making a Star Fox game for Nintendo
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 5 Comments
This information comes from Hideki Kamiya’s Twitter. His body of work includes Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta, and my personal favorite, Okami.
“If they had the team that made Star Fox 64 make it…I want Nintendo’s staff to come to Platinum, stick guns at us and tell us ‘You guys make a new Star Fox.'”
Kamiya really enjoyed Star Fox 64 and specifically mentioned the game’s entertaining scenario and battles on Twitter. When Kamiya joined Capcom, one of two ideas he submitted was a 3D shooting game (the other actually turned into Okami). But since he was so pleased with Star Fox 64, he believed there was no need for another title like it.
Thanks to Robert for the news tip!
