Zelda Echoes of Wisdom credits Shigeru Miyamoto

Maxnichols has taken a closer look at the credits for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and believe it or not, Shigeru Miyamoto isn’t in them. It’s actually the first game in which he’s not credited for one of the series’ games.

Miyamoto, of course, is the creator of Zelda. But as many fans know, his role shifted within Nintendo over the past few years. Rather than focusing on game development, he’s been involved with other initiatives like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Super Nintendo World, and more. Nearly a decade ago, Miyamoto was given the new title “Creative Fellow”.

That’s not the only tidbit learned form the credits. 338 people are listed in the credits for Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and an interesting stat is that 53 percent of them never worked on the series previously.

The credits for Breath of the Wild listed 1,033 names and Tears of the Kingdom had 1,340. The remake of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Switch came at 213.

We’ll also mention that Takashi Tezuka, another big name at Nintendo, doesn’t appeared in the credits either. However, it’s slightly less noteworthy as this happened previously with Zelda II and Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is available on Switch worldwide, and you can check out our review here. Also, Maxnichols’s full deep dive on the credits for the game can be found here.
