Fast Fusion could get post-launch update with 120 FPS mode
Fast Fusion may receive a 120 FPS performance mode after launch. That’s according to Manfred Linzner, who shared the news in an interview with Nintendo Everything.
Fast Fusion will run at 60 frames per second with a 4K resolution at launch. That alone is very much impressive. However, we could see an even higher level of performance in the future.
Linzner told us that Shin’en decided to focus on “making a great game at 60 FPS, even when playing 4 player splitscreen.” But since “120FPS would be nice to have,” the company “will look if this will be possible for a later patch.”
Nintendo itself is even experimenting with different technical options for its Switch 2 releases. Metroid Prime 4 will have a performance mode featuring 120 FPS with a 1080p resolution, though fans can also opt for a graphical mode featuring 60 FPS at 4K.
Fast Fusion launches alongside Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025 and we’ll have more from our interview soon. Shin’en recently put out a trailer for the game, which you can find here.
