New ratings from the ESRB have suggested that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series will be released for Switch. Classifications have surfaced for Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI.

Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy III originally debuted in July 2021. Final Fantasy IV followed in September of that year. Final Fantasy V then dropped in November 2021. Lastly, Final Fantasy VI debuted in February 2022. Thus far these titles have only been put out on PC, iOS, and Android.

Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI have all launched on Nintendo platforms previously. However, as part of the Pixel Remaster series, the games were redone in the Unity engine with a remastered musical score supervised by Nobuo Uematsu, adjustments, bug fixes, and more.
