This week, Square Enix released a new update for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster. All of the RPGs in the collection have received a new patch.

Square Enix says that every game has received stability improvements. There are some extra notes for a couple of the games as well.

Here’s the full rundown:

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster three million

Sales of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series have surpassed three million units, Square Enix just announced. That’s up from the two million milestone announced back in May.

Today’s number applies to the combined performance on Switch, PlayStation 4, and mobile. It should be worldwide sales as well.

Square Enix announced the first sales milestone for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, with the collection selling over two million copies. That figure goes for units across all platforms worldwide.

Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI are all a part of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is primarily a digital release with all games available individually on the eShop. However, Square Enix offered a short print run through its online store. You can currently nab a physical copy by importing from Asia here.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster release date

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster finally has a release date on Switch. The collection will launch on April 19, 2023, Square Enix just announced.

The package contains the first six Final Fantasy games that have been updated with new 2D pixel graphics, rearranged soundtracks overseen by original composer Nobuo Uematsu, and improved gameplay features. There’ll be a modernized user interface, auto-battle options and more.

Earlier this month, ESRB ratings for the Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remasters appeared online. Today, December 18, marks the 35th Anniversary of the series, and Square Enix have now officially announced that the games will be launching physically and digitally on Nintendo’s console in Spring 2023. Digitally the games will be available to purchase separately or in a bundle, and standard and collector’s editions of the games will be available to purchase physically from the Square Enix Store.

New ratings from the ESRB have suggested that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series will be released for Switch. Classifications have surfaced for Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI.

Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy III originally debuted in July 2021. Final Fantasy IV followed in September of that year. Final Fantasy V then dropped in November 2021. Lastly, Final Fantasy VI debuted in February 2022. Thus far these titles have only been put out on PC, iOS, and Android.
