Fire Emblem Heroes update out now (version 2.2.0)

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have released a fairly significant update for Fire Emblem Heroes. All players can now access version 2.2.0.

Some pretty major elements are included in today’s update. These include a new event, new Special Training Maps, adjustments and fixes, and much more. You can find a full overview of today’s update below. 

What’s in Store for the 2.2.0 Update

Thank you for playing the Fire Emblem Heroes game. This is from the Fire Emblem Heroes development team.
Here are the new features and changes for Ver. 2.2.0.

■ New Event

Starting 2/8/2018 11:00 p.m.(PT), a new event, Tap Battle: Illusory Dungeon, will begin.
Even level 1 Heroes can help out in this event, so don’t hesitate to dive into the depths!

■ New Special Training Maps
Starting 2/8/2018 11:00 p.m.(PT), useful maps for training your Heroes known as Special Training maps will appear on a daily rotating basis.
The enemies will keep coming, making them great for earning EXP and SP.

・ Day 1: Melee
・ Day 2: Ranged
・ Day 3: Bows
・ Day 4: Magic
・ Day 5: The Workout

After Day 5, the map cycle starts over again with Day 1.

There are five different difficulty options, starting from level 5 and up to level 34.

The map names show what type of unit will have an easier time growing on that map. You can also earn rewards, like Orbs and Blessings, the first time you clear these maps, so be sure to try them out.

■ Play Grand Hero Battles Every Day
Starting 2/8/2018 11:00 p.m.(PT), seven Grand Heroes will appear on a daily basis in Special Maps.

・ Sunday at 11:00 p.m. – Narcian: Wyvern General
・ Monday at 11:00 p.m. – Navarre: Scarlet Sword
・ Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. – Robin: Mystery Tactician
・ Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. – Ursula: Blue Crow
・ Thursday at 11:00 p.m. – Lloyd: White Wolf
・ Friday at 11:00 p.m. – Michalis: Ambitious King
・ Saturday at 11:00 p.m. – Xander: Paragon Knight

Difficult Grand Hero quests will also be available for one year, until 2/8/2019 10:59 p.m.(PT)

■ Adjustments to the Battle Screen Layout
The layout of the Battle screen has been adjusted, adding a new way to access events.
Use this new Events option to play Tap Battles, Tempest Trials, and other events.
The ! mark will appear when an event is active, so that’s your sign to dive on in.
Also, with the March Update an entrance to a new mode is planned to be added to the upper-left of the screen.
This new mode is planned to contain maps that can only be played with Legendary Heroes and Heroes that have had a blessing conferred on them.
You can get Blessing items through Legendary Hero summoning events, Special Training Maps, and other events. Prepare your Blessings as you look forward to this new mode!

 

■ New Weapon Skills for Certain Heroes, as Well as More Weapon Options, in the Weapon Refinery

The following Heroes can now learn a new unit-specific weapon skill at 5★.
Caeda: Talys’s Heart
Wing Sword

Hinoka: Warrior Princess
Hinoka’s Spear

Raven: Peerless Fighter 
Basilikos

Felicia: Maid Mayhem 
Felicia’s Plate

The following weapons can be upgraded or can gain additional special effects via the Weapon Refinery.
Eckesachs
This skill can be learned by:
Zephiel: The Liberator

Falchion
This skill can be learned by:
Marth: Altean Prince 
Chrom: Exalted Prince 
Lucina: Future Witness 
Marth: Enigmatic Blade 
Alm: Hero of Prophecy 

There are three upgrade variations for Falchion based on the ally:
Marth: Altean Prince
Chrom: Exalted Prince, Lucina: Future Witness, and Marth: Enigmatic Blade 
Alm: Hero of Prophecy

Wing Sword
This skill can be learned by:
Caeda: Talys’s Heart

Hinoka’s Spear
This skill can be learned by:
Hinoka: Warrior Princess

Basilikos
This skill can be learned by:
Raven: Peerless Fighter

Felicia’s Plate
This skill can be learned by:
Felicia: Maid Mayhem

Give your favorite Heroes more chances to shine with these new weapon skills and upgrade options in the Weapon Refinery!

To access the Weapon Refinery, after clearing Book I, Chapter 13 in the main story, you must clear the second Intermission map, The Rite of Blades.

■ Other Changes
・ The skill Wrath has been changed. It will now trigger the damage +10 effect for Special skills that do damage to foes within a certain range, such as Blazing Thunder. 
・ A feature has been added to guide players to a map from the Home screen if certain specified maps have not been cleared. 
・ The manakete transformation animation will now display only the first time the unit battles after starting a map. 
・ It’s now possible to change the display size when launching in windowed mode on a ChromeBook.
