Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX out on Switch this month, new trailer
Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX has secured a final release date on Switch. The roguelite indie firefighter will be available on June 22, publisher Thunderful and developer Dejima have announced. It was originally planned for last December, though the title was pushed back across all consoles.
For those that have been keeping up with the game, you may notice that the “DX” part of the title is new. That’s because Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue will launch on Switch as a new and improved version following its PC debut last year.
Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX “is an overhauled and rebalanced version of the game”. It has new enemies, reworked environments, a rebalanced difficulty curve, a streamlined upgrade tree, improved level design, and much more. A play style focused on extinguishing enemies is now more viable, with players now receiving more additional time for extinguishing fiery foes. Exits are also now easier to discover, water refills will be more readily available when they are running low, and the income system has been rebuilt from the ground up.
Dejima Julien Ribassin had this to say:
“The original release of Firegirl on PC gave us invaluable feedback on how we could improve the experience significantly ahead of a console release. With the completely reworked and rebalanced version of the game that is Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX, we’ve kept everything that was great about the original version and reworked the wrinkles to provide a definitive version of the game. Look forward to it on June 22nd.”
