■ Other changes
The help text for some Special skills has been adjusted (the amount of damage has not been changed from Ver. 2.9.1).

The damage done to enemies in battle is calculated as described below.

■ Step 1: The Base Damage value is calculated.
Base Damage = (Atk × advantage bonus × effectiveness bonus) + damage boosts from Special-skill effects – foe’s Def (or Res) – defensive-terrain effects (see Note 1)

■ Step 2: The Adjusted Damage value is calculated.
Adjusted Damage = (Base Damage + damage dealt from non-Special skill effects [see Note 2]) × 1/2, if weapon is a staff (see Note 3), × damage-reducing skill effects (see Note 4) (see Note 5)

Note 2: Wo Dao, Shining Bow, Wrath, etc., for example.
Note 3: If the result is not a whole number, the result will be rounded down.
Note 4: Pavise, Ice Mirror, Divine Tyrfing, Urvan, etc., for example.
Note 5: If the result is not a whole number, the result will be rounded up.

■ Step 3: The Final Damage value is calculated and dealt to the foe.
Final Damage = Adjusted Damage – skill effects that reduce damage by a fixed value (see Note 6)
Note 6: Shield Pulse, etc.

Skills whose effects occur in Step 1 are now phrased as boosts damage and skills whose effects occur in Step 2 are now phrased as deals damage in order to clarify how damage is calculated.
