Ghost Trick Phantom Detective sequel

Could Capcom make a sequel to Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective one day? Shu Takumi, the game’s creator (who’s also behind the Ace Attorney series), isn’t committed to the idea, but isn’t ruling out the possibility either.

Game Informer recently asked Takumi straight up about sequel chances. He responded by saying “it would be difficult” given how the story is told in one complete game, but “the powers of the dead that this game introduces may hold some possibility.”

Takumi’s full words on Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective sequel chances:

“The story of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is completely told in this single game, so I think it would be difficult to create a sequel. However, the powers of the dead that this game introduces may hold some possibility.”

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective originally appeared on DS, but it’s finally making a comeback. It did come to mobile a few years ago, but didn’t really make a splash there. Now the title is being brought back again and on multiple platforms, including Switch.

Those interested in the Switch version of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective will be able to pick it up on June 30, 2023.
