GORSD details, footage
IGN published a BitSummit-focused article containing small previews of various indie games. Among these is GORSD, an upcoming title for Switch. Find some information about the project below along with a few minutes of footage.
– Also known as Grid of Ridiculous Sudden Death
– Party game
– The play fields are a network of paths viewed from top down
– As you run along you paint the path you’re on in your color
– The basic goal being to paint the entire map
– Complicating things are the (up to) three other players, also running around
– Each player has a single bullet
– When fired, the bullet moves back and forth along the path it’s on
– Hit another player and they blow up
– This coats the area with your color and then have to respawn
– Longer and longer respawns the more times you’re been hit
– You can also kill yourself with your own bullet, unless you’re holding down the right shoulder button
– If you do this, you can gather it back up
– Trade-off here as you won’t paint the grid while in that state
– If you hold in a direction when you fire your bullet, you can make it go around the next corner and potentially loop all the way back around
– Various maps
– Each map has different patterns of paths and a variety of other elements
– These include paths you can’t travel down, but you can fire your bullet along
– There are also a number of ways to modify the rules
– Single-player content included
– GORSD is being developed by Springloaded in Singapore
– Springloaded is working on six Switch games
