GTA Trilogy update 1.112

After the patch started to make its way out yesterday, the new 1.112 update for GTA Trilogy (technically called Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition) is live on Nintendo Switch. We can confirm that all three games in the collection have been spruced up on the console.

Rockstar has shared its official patch notes, which note various fixes and improvements. Also, probably the biggest thing here is the lighting. Players can now select Classic Lighting mode to more closely emulate the look of the original games.

Here are the official patch notes for the GTA Trilogy 1.112 update:

  • Numerous fixes and improvements
  • Added Classic Lighting mode which restores the look and feel of the sky in the original games

There are other specifics to the update not mentioned in the patch notes. According to SynthPotato, the game has brought back fog, there are combat changes, characters are mostly fixed, parallax interiors are gone, crouching is fixed, there’s different weather, players can pause in cutscenes, and you can fly through the clouds.

Also, it looks like Grove Street Games has been fully removed from the project. The company handled the trilogy’s original release, but have not been involved more recently.

The last update for the trilogy was made available almost three years ago. We have those patch notes (which were quite extensive) here.
