Warner Bros. pursuing Hogwarts Legacy successor

September 4: Hogwarts Legacy fans can count on a follow-up releasing at some point in the future.

According to WBD CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels, a new game is currently a big priority for the company. It sounds like we shouldn’t count on it launching in the near future – which makes sense – but this essentially counts as a sequel confirmation.

Wiedenfels said the following today during an interview at Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference:

“Obviously, a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road. So there is certainly a significant growth contribution from that [games] business in our strategic outlook here.”

Hogwarts Legacy first launched in February 2023. The roll out to other platforms followed, with Switch getting the game last holiday.

Game development takes longer than ever these days, so it could be a number of years before the new title is ready to go. Still, it’s significant for Warner Bros. as the current game sold over 24 million copies.

Is there anything in particular you’d like to see in a Hogwarts Legacy sequel? Let us know in the comments.
