How to complete The Great Fairy’s Request in Echoes of Wisdom

Posted on October 18, 2024 by in Guides, Switch

The Great Fairy’s Request is one of the more well-hidden side quests in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and it requires you to be far enough in the story that you’ve finished up the main quest at Eldin Volcano as well as finding the Magma Stone and Floral Seashell. Your reward is one of the game’s many accessories, which in this case is a Might Bell that can detect nearby Might Crystals that you haven’t collected just yet. Here’s how to start The Great Fairy’s Request and obtain the Might Bell accessory.

The Great Fairy's Request walkthrough

The Great Fairy is located inside a cave in Lake Hylia. You won’t be able to start this quest until you clear up the rift on Eldin Volcano – you’ll also have to have upgraded all your accessory slots, which costs a lot of money. If you’re looking for easy ways to farm money other than the Goldfinch Automaton, be sure to check out our Rupee farming guide before you continue. That way, you can upgrade all your accessory slots and unlock the ability to take on this quest.

Once you’ve done this, a chest will appear in the Great Fairy’s room containing a Might Crystal. Open it up and this quest will begin – the Great Fairy will ask you for a pendant in exchange for an accessory that can detect nearby Might Crystals (the Might Bell). This will first take you to the Gerudo Town shop, whose shopkeeper asks you to find a Magma Stone and Floral Seashell to use as components for the pendant.

For the Magma Stone, you’ll have to head to the Goron City shop and speak to the Goron found here. He’ll direct you to the Lizalfos Den that you’ll have visited for the main quest earlier in the game. Head inside, defeat the enemies found here, and that same shopkeeper will enter the cave and grab a Magma Stone for you to keep. For the Floral Seashell, all you have to do is bring an Unfortunate Smoothie to the shopkeeper there. An incredibly easy recipe for an Unfortunate Smoothie is two Monster Fangs, so go with that if you don’t have one yet.

Once you’ve got both the Magma Stone and the Floral Seashell, head back to Gerudo Town and hand over the components you gathered. You’ll receive a Lovely Pendant in exchange, which you’ll then need to bring to the Great Fairy. Your reward is the Might Bell, an accessory that plays a chime when you’re near an uncollected Might Crystal. And if you’re looking to get the rest of the accessories in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you can check out our guide on that here.
