Ian Flynn returning for Sonic Frontiers story DLC
Ian Flynn is back on board with Sonic Frontiers for the game’s story DLC. That news comes directly from Flynn, who shared the news on Twitter.
Director Morio Kishimoto handled the events and key details. After that, it was Flynn’s responsibility “to flesh it out.” He added that “the team is extremely hard-working and ambitious,” and “the DLC will be truly important.”
Flynn got his start on Sonic the Hedgehog with Archie’s comic series. He also contributed to the Sonic Boom television series. Sonic Frontiers was his first real chance to work on the series’ games, though he also wrote the story scenes for Sonic Origins.
Not much is known about Sonic Frontiers’ story DLC currently. However, it’s been teased that there’ll be other playable characters – seemingly Knuckles and Amy. The story content will be entirely free.
Sonic Frontiers already received its first free update last month, adding new challenge modes, a Photo Mode, and a Jukebox. We have more information here.
A second free update will also come before the story content. Once again, SEGA is keeping quiet on the details. The company has only teased that it’ll feature Sonic’s birthday, and open zone challenge, and new Koco. You can find the full roadmap here.
