KORG Gadget dev comments on inability to export songs and lack of MIDI support

KORG Gadget - Nintendo Switch

The music creation software KORG Gadget launched on the Switch eShop this week. Unfortunately, it has a major limitation. Currently there is no native way of exporting any music created.

What does that mean if you’re looking to take your song outside of KORG Gadget? The developer currently recommends recording the audio from either the headphone output in the body of the Switch, or from HDMI audio output. Obviously that isn’t ideal.

KORG responded to fans who were upset to discover the inability to export songs normally. Apparently it all comes down to “limitations” with Switch. These limitations are also why MIDI isn’t supported.

The full statement reads:

Because of limitations of the Nintendo Switch platform, we can not support exporting songs and MIDI right now. We think this feature is very important, and we wish we can provide this functionality. Thank you for your understanding.
