[Let’s Talk] August 2025 Indie World Showcase reactions
Yet another Nintendo presentation happened this week with the August 2025 Indie World Showcase. Across fifteen or so minutes, a ton of different titles were highlighted for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.
One of the big announcements was UFO 50 for Nintendo Switch, which launched that same day. Mina the Hollower, Neverway, OPUS: Prism Peak, Ultimate Sheep Raccoon, and Content Warning were just a few of the titles shown. We have a rundown of everything that was included here.
Did you want this week’s Indie World Showcase? Do you have a personal highlight? Let us know in the comments.

while a wee underwhelming, the showstoppers for me where Once Upon a Katamari and Plants vs. Zombies Replanted

I didn’t care much for it, to be honest.
Outside of Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac and (probably) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, there just wasn’t much else that caught my eye and though I am happy to see ports like Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero and Persona 3 Reload on their way, those were just too expected for me to be surprised about and I was more wondering on when they were getting announced than when they were getting ported.

I’m pretty excited about Octopath 0, especially if it has my second favorite Octopath character in it (the cait Isla from Champions of the Continent).

My thoughts can be quite easily spoken since I’ve already stated them in the recap thread.
So to quote myself:
“An overall satisfying presentation. Yeah, I’m not into licensed sports games all that much, but I am certainly looking forward to quite a bit here from both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
From known commodities like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, the new Shinobi (whose demo I will be trying later today), and the Final Fantasy Tactics remake to very pleasant new surprises like Monster Hunter Stories 3, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, P3 Reload (new for Switch 2 anyway), and two brand new HD-2D releases (Octopath Traveler 0 and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millenium Tales) for the end of this year and sometime next year respectively, there was a lot for me to look forward to.
And I do have a couple of ‘wait and see’ games from the presentation, to where I need to see more before I make a final decision on my interest. One being the Bloober Team game, Cronos.”
To add to it, though, I’ll be waiting till I get expanded memory for buying S2-only games that are game key card releases (such as the aforementioned Persona 3 Reload), and even then, I will be buying them entirely in digital format. I don’t resell games, so the main advantage of the GKC format doesn’t apply to me.
