3DS recently celebrated its seventh anniversary. That’s a long time for any gaming system, and Nintendo isn’t planning on abandoning its dedicated portable anytime soon. The latest Nintendo Direct showed that Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey is launching in 2019, so we can count on at least another year out of the platform.
Over the years, a ton of great games have been made for 3DS. From Nintendo alone we’ve seen Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Super Mario 3D Land, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, various Fire Emblem and Pokemon titles, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and many more. It’s also been home to many high-quality third-party titles.
With everything that has been released over the years, what’s your favorite 3DS game? Let us know in the comments below.

I thought it was a great direct! I know a lot of it was ports, but the majority of those games were ones that I haven’t gotten the chance to play before, like Luigi’s Mansion and Okami, so I’m really happy. Plus, that Splatoon DLC looks amazing. Wrapping it up with smash might have made it my personal favorite direct ever

The fact that there’s Octopath Traveler release date there already fixed it for me 😀 Okami HD is also a surprise, so I’m happy for that too.
Overall feeling good about Switch, this year I’m looking forward to adding around 5 new games.
Hollow Knight, Octopath Traveler, Shining Resonance Refrain, Okami, TWEWY… yeah, this year will be good year compared to my library of last year only 2 games (2 awesome games, but still 2 games) 😀
Really loving my Switch so much, wish I can play all my Steam games there too 🙁

It was definitely a port-heavy Direct, but very solid nevertheless.

I am totally stoked about Treasure Tracker coming to Switch. It’s the one Wii U port I was really hoping for, it looks adorable, and I love the hakoniwa-style world/gameplay. Undertale is very good (if vague) news, but I’m a little conflicted since I already bought it for PS4… Didn’t finish it though, so here’s a perfect excuse lol. I was gonna abandon my plans to get Mario Tennis: Aces when they spent 10 years explaining all the confusing moves (which put me off the GBC game, especially with only two buttons). But then they announced the ‘simple rules’ option. Perfect! Back on board. May finally give Okami another chance, although I doubt I’ll find time for it – most people I know got tired of it after FORTY HOURS. Overall, great Direct for me!

For me it was actually a very nice Direct. I don’t mind the ports in the least. As a matter of fact, I really thinks ports are really important to build up a library of great games that few people got to play. Ports make all the sense in the world from a business point of view and also allow people who didn’t have a chance to play those games to do it now. Win-win for everyone. Those who already own those game don’t need to buy them again, so I don’t get the complaints.
The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of Luigi’s Mansion on the Switch.
