[Let’s Talk] First Nintendo Switch 2 impressions
The launch of a new gaming system is always an exciting time. These days, it’s even more exciting in the world of Nintendo. In the past we’d see a new Nintendo device every few years – it’d be split between the release of handheld and home console. But because those two things are now combined, the wait for Nintendo hardware is longer than ever before. Now after more than eight years, Nintendo Switch 2 is finally here.
Nintendo was clearly looking to build on what worked so well the last time around. That means we again have a system that can be played either on the TV or on the go. Still, the added power is certainly welcome, and there are some new features such as mouse support and GameChat functionality.
If you picked up a Nintendo Switch 2 this week, how are you feeling about it so far? What are your first impressions? Which games have you played? Let us know in the comments.
Highlights from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – June 2025
BlindSideSonny
Just finished up Skyward Sword on Switch for the second time and thinking about playing OoT on NSO before WW makes its debut on S2. Can’t get enough Zelda. Also, Fi is best companion. Make me change my mind.

Playing mother 3 for the first time and I’m probably going to wrap that up this weekend, also halo reach and that metroidvania strider game they released back on ps4. I’m kinda just jumping around and playing random stuff since it’s going to be all about the switch 2 in a few days

Still working on my back catalogue, and trying to get a few titles I was eyeing on, whenever and if I get around to it.

Dropped Xenoblade X because it made my Switch’s fan act like a fighter jet and started Fire Emblem Engage. Really liking the game, but the charachters are annoying, everything I do they need to gush about. But the gameplay is top notch, from what I played, on normal, it is harder than 3 Houses.
Also playing Poison Control. Very clunky, but fun.
