[Let’s Talk] The Game Awards 2018 reactions

Posted on December 8, 2018 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk

The Game Awards 2018 have come and gone, but not without some big announcements. Nintendo itself had new things to show, as did third-parties.

The biggest announcement of the night may have been the last one. Joker from Persona 5 is Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first true DLC character, which no one really predicted. Nintendo also unveiled the Team Ninja-developed Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. Other third-party highlights include Mortal Kombat 11, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, and Sayonara Wild Hearts.

How do you feel about everything that was shown? What do you think of Joker as Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first DLC character? Were you disappointed by something you thought could be at the show but wasn’t? Let us know in the comments below.

Highlights from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – December 2018

Let’s Go Pikachu – Lot of fun in co-op, hope they offer some kind of couch co-op in the full game next year.

The Messenger – Arcade platforming goodness, though feeling a little padded at times.

Night In The Woods – The best written, funniest game I’ve ever played. I wasn’t into Oxenfree so I figured “walking simulators” weren’t for me, I guess I was wrong.

Crimson Hat

Kirby: Dark Souls version also known as Heroes in Another Dimension. Until Dec 7th anyway because Smash kills pretty much every other game I want to play

I just finished Let’s Go Eevee the other day. I may continue to play, doing some of the post-game stuff with the Master Trainers and catching ’em all and whatnot, but I admit I’m really just killing time until Friday at this point. ^^;

Alternately, I guess I should get back to Valkyria Chronicles 4. I didn’t finish it, and in fact kinda dropped it completely when Let’s Go came out. Although I generally liked the game, I was kinda frustrated with the battle I’m currently up to, and was all too happy to set the game down for a while. Maybe now that a couple weeks have passed, I might be able to return to it with a clear head.
