[Let’s Talk] What are you playing? – February 2025

A new month just started up today. Now that we’re in February, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Following the holiday season, things are starting to pick up with new releases. We’ve seen a variety of games launch including Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, and more. Have you been playing through any of these? Any game that had any consistent performance issues (BOTW, TOTK, Link’s Awakening… non-Zelda games).

I hope Skyrim is available for backwards compatibility so I don’t have to buy it yet again…. Lol. I never finished Metroid Dread, so that would be cool too.

Really hoping we get PQ and performance patches for the Switch Xenoblade games. I really want to play those titles with at least a capped resolution, rather than having them dip to sub-SD when things get hairy.

Xeboblade 2 also looked awful on Switch 2.

Anyways, I would add games that optionally utilize Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, etc.), but given the increased size of the Nintendo Switch 2 I doubt it would happen unless if Nintendo and/or some other company addresses to that.

Either way, so as long as the Nintendo Switch 2 makes a good chunk of the Nintendo Switch’s library backwards compatible (alongside improving their performances; I’m looking at you, Princess Peach: Showtime!), then I’ll have no worries on what Nintendo Switch 2 has on its last-gen table.
