[Let’s Talk] What are you playing? – March 2019

Posted on March 9, 2019 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk

A new month rolled right on in last week. Now that we’re in March, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Have you started up something entirely new for the month? Giving Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn a try on 3DS? No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.

Highlights from last week’s topic: Pokemon Sword/Shield reactions

Great to see a new Pokémon game on Switch. The art is largely following Sun and Moon, however, is much larger in scope. Galar looks vibrant and varied with many landscapes inspired by the UK. Battles look great with an overall cleaner cell-shaded presentation than Let’s Go. Hopeful that the world will match the ambition of the title and have a different approach to exploring the region.

Keen for Scorbunny as my starter so far (I’ll make my final choice based on the final evolutions). The designs for the starters look great and I hope the quality of these Pokémon is retained in the others for this generation.

I’m really happy with what I saw in the trailer. I really like it when a game series has a style all it’s own that gradually evolves over time, as opposed to sudden big changes for the sake of it. I think they did a good job upgrading from Sun and Moon. Things looked great while keeping that distinct Pokemon feel. I liked Let’s GO’s style for a side game, but I didn’t want that for the main core games. The setting looks interesting so far and has me excited to learn more over the course of the rest of the year. I think the starters look really fun, but I’m not quite ready to pick a favorite yet. I really want to see their full evolutions first, because that’s who I’ll really be working with when all is said and done. I’m very excited to see what happens when Game Freak really lets loose with a new game designed from the ground up for a console like the Switch.

I’m hyped because I have been waiting forever for a UK based Pokémon game.

People get far too caught up in graphics etc… Nothing is set in stone yet.

I just cannot wait to get more details.
