[Let’s Talk] What are you playing? – March 2022
A new month started up earlier this week. Now that we’re in March, we want to know what you’ve been playing.
Have you started up Triangle Strategy? Are you still sinking your teeth into Pokemon Legends: Arceus? Or maybe you’re going through a different Switch release or something from your backlog. No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.
Highlights from last week’s topic: February 2022 Pokemon Presents reactions

I resigned myself to gen 9 coming this year when Arceus actually hit its January release date despite how rough it looked up until very shortly before release (and after release too in many ways…). I ended up enjoying Arceus way more than I expected and it seems Scarlet and Violet are following its general direction so I’m happy about that since I wanted to see its systems applied to a more standard game with multiple towns and more trainer battles.
I doubt everything will carry over though, for instance from the press release it sounds like you’re forced to battle wild Pokémon to catch them, which sounds like such a pain after how quick and snappy Arceus made the general gameplay. I hope they manage to find a middle ground on most of those aspects if they’re not going to carry them over wholesale. I get not using Arceus’ battle system since it would be way too unbalanced in a multiplayer setting, but they absolutely need to keep the overworld encounters with no battle transition and the automatic text and UI elements. There can be no going back.

I am happy with Pokemon Day! I was delighted to see Alola Pokemon so today I caught Eggsecutor and when I go on Tuesday I am going to find an Alola Raichu. Pokemon Yellow was my entry into Pokemon on the Gameboy Color. And hoping I can find a Pikachu that can evolve to Alola Raichu would be nice during Spring time. And Spring is perfect season for Alola. I am also happy about Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. I was happy that a new Pokemon Gen 9 game was revealed. And I said it off the bat that Pokemon Scarlet would be my choice as I always pick red in the Pokemon game series. And that’s not all! I am picking Quaxly as my starter. And I am naming it Darkwing Duck! I remember that cartoon. All in all, I loved Pokemon Day 2022!

After enjoying Pokemon Legends immensely (which it seems like they’re continuing the game-play style), seeing 3 great starter Pokemon designs and a seamless open-world, plus it looks nicer than Legends visually too, I’m liking what I’ve seen so far.
So I guess the next big question is, what are they going to do about the National Pokédex?
