[Let’s Talk] Your first reaction to Nintendo Switch 2

Posted on January 18, 2025 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch 2

There’s no doubt that this was a massive week for Nintendo. The company delivered on its promise to announce its next system by the end of March, giving fans a brief look at what to expect.

Extensive leaks pretty much informed us what we’d be getting here. Still, for the first time officially, Nintendo showed off the hardware itself, the new Joy-Con, and a new Mario Kart game. We also received confirmation that the new system will launch in 2025. You can watch the reveal video here and check out the official PR here.

What was your initial reaction to Nintendo Switch 2? What are your thoughts on the system so far? Did the leaks impact things at all for you? Let us know in the comments.

Highlights from last week’s topic: Will you be picking up Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition?

For some reason I didn’t enjoy the game on its original release, but the changes to gameplay and added content makes this one a day 1 buy for me. I really love those re-releases where the company updates some of the bad or annoying aspects of the original game, effectively fixing them.

As an enjoyer of fun, I will be buying it.

Absolutely. Already reserved. I loved the Wii U original and this version looks improved in every way and not just from a visual standpoint. (I do slightly favor the main numbered entries, but not honestly by too much)

New characters and story elements that were left out of the final product of the original release will be an especially fun thing, but I also really dig the vastly improved UI (complete with a font size where you don’t have to squint and showing Overdrive combos during combat) and the confirmation of new Skells.

I don’t know if the new narrative material will have any hints towards the future, but I look forward to it for this series be it XC4 or XCX2.

I bought a voucher the moment they announced the game. I’m just waiting for the release day.

One of the best open worlds ever, must-play
