Metroid Prime 4: Beyond teases new psychic abilities, more

New footage of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond debuted today. Nintendo provided a look at Planet Viewros plus psychic abilities that can be used to operate mechanisms, open doors, and control the trajectory of Samus’ beams. A new suit was also teased at the end.

Nintendo first announced Metroid Prime 4 way back at E3 2017. The game ended up hitting a significant roadblock, and at the very start of 2019, the project was rebooted with Retro Studios taking over development. Now more than six years later, the game is almost ready to go.

Metroid Prime 4 will be the first brand new project from Retro Studios in over a decade. The company’s last original title, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, first came to Wii U in 2018. Retro Studios did work on Metroid Prime Remastered, which came to Nintendo Switch in 2023.
