Metroid Prime 4 fans have been dying to know about the release date, and we finally have an answer. Just revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, the game is coming to both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch on December 4, 2025. Also shown today is the ability to ride a motorcycle.

Here’s a look at some new amiibo that are planned:

Metroid Prime 4 amiibo

Remember that if you’re playing on Nintendo Switch 2, there’ll be technical benefits. Quality Mode and Performance Mode will be included, both of which support HDR. You can experience the game in 4K at 60 FPS or full HD at 120 FPS. The Nintendo Switch 2 version also included Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.

In terms of games that Nintendo officially announced, the wait between the initial reveal and launch has been one of the longest. Metroid Prime 4 was first confirmed way back in 2017. However, at the start of 2019, Nintendo basically rebooted the project and put Retro Studios – the series’ original creator – on development duties.
