Monster Hunter Wilds producer on possibility of Nintendo Switch 2 port
Monster Hunter Wilds producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has been asked about a potential Nintendo Switch 2 port of the game in light of the system’s recent announcement.
Unsurprisingly, Tsujimoto wasn’t going to announce anything right there in the interview with Gamereactor. However, he did say Capcom “would need to take time over the coming future to learn exactly the nature of the hardware and how we’ll be using it best”.
Tsujimoto’s full words about Monster Hunter Wilds for Nintendo Switch 2 from the interview are as follows:
“Of course with relation to platforms from Monster Hunter Wilds we have nothing extra to announce beyond what’s already out there. But we’re also kind of in the same position everyone else is with the Switch 2: It’s such a brand-new announcement, and we would need to take time over the coming future to learn exactly the nature of the hardware and how we’ll be using it best and that’s something that’s going to be in the future for us.”
Monster Hunter and Nintendo platforms have had close ties over the years. For quite some time, the series was a Nintendo-exclusive. We also saw that Monster Hunter Rise started off as a Nintendo Switch-only game before coming to other platforms.
Capcom previous addressed the lack of Nintendo Switch 1 plans for Monster Hunter Wilds. You can read the full quote here, but the company ultimately suggested that the console isn’t capable of achieving the team’s goal of “aiming to portray the maximum of the world”.
