Famitsu has a two-page feature on Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash this week. The Japanese magazine touches on a couple of familiar things, but also presents new information.

In terms of the premise, Chibi-Robo and its partner robot Tonpi see in the news that resources have gone missing in various areas around the world. The two end up encountering an alien and pursue it thinking that this is the culprit.

One of the big hooks in Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash is the ability to use Chibi-Robo’s plug and cord in side-scrolling stages. Players will be able to throw the cord in two ways: quick throw or power throw. By collecting blue and red balls, the cord can be extended. It can also be attached into an orange panel and then jump from place to place by shaking the cord.

Chibi-Robo can hover in the air by spinning the cord. You can also attach the plug into an orange panel and then jump from place to place by shaking the cord.

Famitsu points out that watts can be recovered at wall sockets or with batteries. Also, Chibi-Robo can generate electricity by burning collected trash in Chibi-Robo’s house. And speaking of the house, it’s a spaceship that is used for traveling.

If Chibi-Robo charges up at a specific wall socket, the character can transform into things like fire Chibi-Robo for a limited time. There’s also an ice form in which players can freeze enemies in addition to the surface of water.

We previously heard that Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash will feature vehicles. Famitsu reconfirms the presence of the water ski in addition to a submarine.

The game will contain a great variety of courses featuring different locations around the world. Examples include Oceania, North Africa, and Caribbean Sea. Throughout the levels, various challenges and bosses are presented.

Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash will be available on October 9 in North America and sometime the following month in Europe.
