NIS America temporarily pulls free Ys VIII DLC

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was originally intended to come with some free DLC at launch. While that content hasn’t been revoked, it has been temporarily pulled from the eShop.

NIS America issued a launch day patch for Ys VIII earlier this week. Unfortunately, some users reported that the game was crashing during the “Checking DLC” screen after downloading the DLC and update. The DLC has been removed for a short while since affected players were unable to start the game.

Thankfully, NIS America has identied the issue. It will be addressed with patch 1.03, which is slated for next week. When live, the DLC will be brought back.

If you happen to be impacted by the issue, NIS America has a couple of suggestions. Be sure to try the following:

1. Remove game card, press “+” button on app icon > Manage Software > Delete Software to delete software and remove patches.
2. Reinstall game card then re-download the patches.

Note that your save progress will remain even after deleting the software, so it will not be deleted.
