Shota Kageyama, a composer who worked on Pokemon X/Y, Pokemon Black/White, and Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver, has left Game Freak. Kageyama also contributed to Luminous Arc and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Kageyama shared the news on Twitter last week in which he wrote:
[Greetings] Happy New Year, everyone. I’m sorry to raise a personal matter, but I left GAME FREAK, who has been good to me these past six years and seven months, on December 31 to start a new music brand called Spica Musica.
Along with gaming, Kageyama will be pursuing other areas of interest. Kageyama said that the staff at Game Freak sent him off with smiles and support, and he’s open to working with the studio again in the future.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y’s online features will be affected by a short maintenance period today. Between 7 PM and 9 PM ET, online play, rankings, and other aspects may be unavailable. The maintenance window won’t be too long, but players should be aware of the downtime in any case.

If all goes well, Unepic should be hitting the eShop later this month.
Natsume is bringing Yumi’s Odd Odyssey to the 3DS eShop later this month. But what does the publisher have in store for Nintendo’s handheld in the future?
While Natsume isn’t confirming anything explicitly, the company has given a vague tease that more 3DS news could be shared prior to E3 2014.
Natsume wrote on Twitter a few days ago:
@GoldMetalSonic If nothing else, we always announce games at/for E3 — but we'll probably have something sooner ^_~ -CeeCee
