During an earnings call today, Ubisoft says that five out of its seven games initially planned for Wii U are ports.
ZombiU and Rayman Legends are completely original. Assassin’s Creed III, Sports Connection, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth, Your Shape, Just Dance 4, and Rabbids Land are also coming to the system.
Ubisoft additionally stated that it isn’t expecting a huge investment in Wii U.
When asked about Ubisoft’s R&D budget and cost of making games for the console, Ubisoft said:
“Out of 7 games we are planning to launch, 5 games are ports, so those are games for which there is a quite small reinvestment to do. The two games that are original are ZombiU of course and Rayman, so those ones of course are more expensive but we are not talking about games today, like we were spending on Ghost Recon or Assassin’s Creed. So they are much smaller of cost. Because as we’ve always said when there is such an innovation the need is not to have big production value but to concentrate on the innovation. This is what we are trying on Rayman and ZombiU. And for the other five games, you are talking about small budget, I’d say of less than a million euro to make some of the ports, I’d estimate. So together I don’t think we have a huge investment on the Wii U.”
Activision could be bringing its upcoming James Bond game to Wii U. Amazon France lists the shooter for Nintendo’s upcoming console.
Even though E3 2012 has passed, Activision’s plans for Wii U are mostly unclear. Although Skylanders Giants has been confirmed for the system, the company has been quiet about additional titles.
007 Legends could be a nice addition to the Wii U’s lineup – assuming Amazon’s listing can be trusted. The last James Bond game for a Nintendo console – GoldenEye 007 on Wii – was well-received and performed fairly well at retail.

SEGA has reevaluated its decision to not attend Gamescom 2012.
After announcing that the company would be skipping the show in May, SEGA has now decided to make an appearance after all. Two titles will be showcased at the expo, one of which is likely Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
The only question is whether or not SEGA plans on making any of its titles available to the public. Invitations sent out to the press have been for behind-closed doors events.
