This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute kicks off a month-long focus on Splatoon. The latest video, which features Nintendo’s new art contest, is posted below.
Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains will launch in North America on May 12, Atlus announced today. It will be sold via the eShop for $39.99.
Unfortunately, Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains has been delayed in Europe due to a copyright claim. The game will also be called “Shingeki no Kyojin: Humanity in Chains” throughout the continent. Atlus hopes to have updated news about the European release date soon.
Lastly, those who purchase Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains or Shingeki no Kyojin: Humanity in Chains will receive a unique Attack on Titan 3DS theme for free.

Capcom brought out the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Hunter’s Weapon Gallery theme for 3DS in North America today as a free download. You can find some footage of it below.
Based on Media Create data, Bravely Second sold 100,000 copies in its first week. How does that stack up to the first game?
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy ended up selling 142,000 copies in its first week. It also had a higher sell-through rate of 85.68 percent compared to Bravely Second’s 53.53 percent.
Media Create points out that Bravely Second is a direct sequel, so buyers were pretty much limited to those who tried out the original game, and it doesn’t look like it managed to attract the same amount of players. It’ll be interesting to see how Bravely Second sells during Golden Week.
Siliconera has a new interview up with a couple of the developers behind Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The site spoke with executive director Kaname Fujioka as well as executive producer Ryozo Tsujimoto. Between the two, they commented on topics like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s item drop rate, how the Tetsuya Nomura armor set collaboration came about, and more.
We’ve gathered up some excerpts from the interview below. The full discussion can be found here.
Yooka-Laylee composer Grant Kirkhope has shared the first piece of music from Playtonic’s new 3D platformer. The track is simply called “Jungle”, and should play out in the relevant level. You can have a listen below.
Update: The theme will only be a limited time after all (thanks AJ_Blaze_). Be sure to grab it while it’s free!
Capcom has released the free Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate theme (“Hunter’s Weapon Gallery”) for 3DS. This is being made available to celebrate the game having shipped over one million copies in North America and Europe. It seems to be permanently free, but I’ll update this post if I hear otherwise.
Thanks to Adrian B for the tip.
FreakZone Games’ first game for Wii U was Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures, which just launched last month. The studio may prepare a second title for the eShop, too.
On Twitter, FreakZone mentioned that the team hopes to get MANOS: The Hands of Fate Director’s Cut. There are no guarantees at the moment, though it’s a strong possibility.
FreakZone’s tweet is as follows:
MANOS: The Hands of Fate Director's Cut will be on Steam in June, I'm really hoping I can get it on Wii U as well 😀

Playtonic intends to create 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee for various platforms, including Wii U. One of the reasons this has been made possible is due to the Unity engine (which the game is built on), as it allows for a great deal of flexibility. Playtonic may encounter some issues along the way, but the team is “looking forward” to bringing Yooka-Laylee to Nintendo’s console, and the team’s passionate Wii U technical director should help in getting it up and running.
The studio’s Gavin Price told MCV:
Our engine, Unity, is multi-platform. But we will see what happens when we try switching on all the dev kits we will be receiving in the future. We have still got that hurdle to come across. But we are looking forward to it. We have a very good technical director, and he is a big Wii U fan. So we will be looking for parity across all the platforms if we can. And it would be nice to take advantage of a few platform features or exclusive content.
The possibility of amiibo support is something that Playtonic has mentioned before. It’s something that the company still hopes to pursue, but there’s no news on that front just yet.
With any big company, these discussions don’t happen as fast as us as a team of seven would like. When we want to do something, we can do it tomorrow. But when you are working with partners, we have to work with them at their speed. So something in that area is still very much in our plans, and there is nothing that is impossible to overcome, so what we do with that we will reveal at the right time. But we know what our own expectations are, because we are fans of this stuff ourselves, so we know what is right and what is expected.
