Pokemon Legends: Z-A getting November patch, Ranked Battle changes for Season 2

Posted on October 29, 2025 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Switch 2

We have the latest news about Pokemon Legends: Z-A, with The Pokemon Company confirming two issues detected with the game and providing information about upcoming adjustments for Ranked Battles with Season 2, which involves Mega Stones.

Currently two bugs have been identified. A patch is already in the works, which will fix things when it releases in November. Here’s what’s been shared:

  • If your Pokemon Boxes become full before the first Rogue Mega Evolution battle and the Boxes menu had not been opened at any point prior to being filled, Pokemon catch attempts will always fail. Additionally, if a side mission that allows you to receive Pokémon is attempted under these conditions, the mission will be completed without granting the Pokemon.
  • In certain side missions, if the time of day switches between daytime and nighttime at the exact moment that a move hits its target, it will become impossible to hit the target afterward, rendering the side mission incapable of being progressed further.

For Ranked Battles in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, adjustments are planned to ease the conditions for obtaining Mega Stones and adjusting the balance. Below is the full rundown as to what’s planned (via machine translation):

Season 2 Updates

The rank-up rewards for Mega Stones will be set for the following ranks.

[Season 1]
– K-rank rank-up reward: Greninjite

[Season 2]
– S-rank rank-up reward: Delphoxite
– Y-rank rank-up reward: Greninjite

Note: The Mega Stone reward that was the K-rank rank-up reward in Season 1 will now be the S-rank rank-up reward, eight ranks lower.
Note: Greninjite, which was the K-rank rank-up reward in Season 1, will be re-released in Season 2 as the Y-rank rank-up reward, one rank higher than Z-rank. Mega Stone rewards will continue to be re-released frequently.

Planned Updates

  • We will adjust the points earned based on ranking to prevent point losses based on the outcome of a match.
  • We will add and increase some battle rewards.
