Rumor: Sonic Heroes remake in development for Switch successor
March 25: A report from Universo Nintendo claims that a remake of the GameCube title Sonic Heroes is on the way, and it will be released on the Switch’s successor.
Little information is known outside of that. The game is apparently being made with Unreal Engine, and could launch in 2025 – though that’s up in the air.
MbKKssTBhz5, a known Persona leaker, backs up the report from Universo Nintendo. However, if you were hoping for a remake of Sonic Adventure as well, you’ll be disappointed to hear that SEGA isn’t planning that currently.
If all of the recent SEGA-related rumors turn out to be true, the Switch’s successor could have a whole lot of support from the company. It was previously claimed that the upcoming Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage will be released on the console. Also rumored are Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio as well as the eventual Persona 6.
Keep in mind that SEGA has not made any official announcements at this time. All rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
March 26: MbKKssTBhz5 is now pulling back on the report. After initially saying that “this is correct information”, MbKKssTBhz5 now states that the project “is being considered” and is unaware “about this remake title being released in next three years,” meaning it would not be in active development.
