Shin Megami Tensei V daily demon vol. 093 – Hua Po
Atlus has released a new daily demon video for Shin Megami Tensei V. Today’s video offers a closer look into the details of Hua Po. Check out the video and some additional information on the demon’s lore and history below the break.
Here is the history behind Hua Po, courtesy of the Megami Tensei Wiki:
According to scripture Zi-bu-yu in Qing dynasty, Hua Po is a kind of tree spirit said to be formed from the disembodied souls of dead humans when three or more people hang themselves from the same tree. They appear as beautiful young girls that are dressed in white clothes but are much smaller than the average human. Although they cannot speak, it is said that they make sounds that are as beautiful as those of songbirds.
The demon Hua Po made its first appearance in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne as a member of the Jirae race. Like in most entries to the Shin Megami Tensei series, Hua Po will continue to be classified as Jirae in Shin Megami Tensei V.
Atlus has been preparing for the launch of Shin Megami Tensei V with these daily demon videos for several weeks, and recently has been sharing two a day. Keep up to date on these videos and other Shin Megami Tensei V coverage here.
Shin Megami Tensei V is scheduled to arrive on Switch on November 12.
