Spike Chunsoft is back once again for an update on Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island. We have details about the game’s Adventure Log, Notebook, and monsters that appear early on.
Here’s the full rundown:
Adventure Log and Notebook
The Adventure Log is a record of everything you encounter during your trek through the dungeon. It contains information on your progress, such as the furthest floor reached, how many turns you took, the types of monsters encountered on each floor, and other useful data. The Notebook categorizes information about Monsters, Items, Runes, Status Conditions, and Traps. This handy compilation allows you to easily review the traits and effects of whatever you’ve encountered prior, even when you’re currently exploring the dungeon.
Monsters
- Mamel: A mascot monster of the Shiren the Wanderer series. What it lacks in strength, it makes up for in cuteness.
- Spearfish: An Aquatic-type monster akin to merfolk. Not only can they traverse both land and water, but they become stronger and recover lost health with every turn they spend in the water. The more powerful forms of this monster will strategically retreat to the water to regain their health if given the chance.
- Octopling: An Aquatic-type monster that likes to pair up with other monsters. The more powerful forms of this monster get angry if their partner monster is defeated, and they will become stronger. Just like Spearfish, they also benefit from being in the water.
