Splatoon 3 11.0.1 update

Splatoon received a version 11.0.1 update a few days ago, fixing a couple issues with the game. However, Nintendo has just revealed that a couple of weapon balance changes were accidentally thrown into the update as well.

Nintendo has decided to not to remove the additional changes, as they were meant to arrive in an upcoming update. It should also be noted that these additional balance patches won’t be found in the original 11.0.1 update patch notes.

You can see the additional patch notes, as well as Nintendo’s explanation here:

Splatoon 3 version 11.0.1 patch notes – continued

  • The performance of some main weapons has been changed.
WeaponChange Details
Rapid Blaster

Rapid Blaster Deco

  • Increased radius of ink coverage caused by bullet splashes by roughly 10%.

R Blaster Elite

R Blaster Elite Deco

R Blaster Elite WNTR

  • Increased ink consumption by roughly 14%.

This update was intended to fix bugs, but it accidentally included some of the game balance changes that will be released in future updates.

These changes will remain in place as they are scheduled to be released in a future update.

Of these, for the Rapid Blaster, we’ve increased the radius of ink spray to make it easier to take advantage of the weapon’s key feature of maintaining an appropriate distance from the opponent.

For the R Blaster Elite, we’ve increased the ink consumption to require more precise aim for each shot.

The next update will also include other changes to battle balance.

Splatoon 3 is available for Nintendo Switch worldwide, and  will continue receiving updates as Nintendo announced. If you want to read about what major changes came in the 11.0.0 update, click here.
