Switch surpasses two million units sold in France, various sales data

Le Figaro published a new interview today with Philippe Lavoué, the general manager of Nintendo France. Lavoué shared the latest sales data for Switch hardware, software, and more.

– Nintendo wanted to sell two million units in France by the end of 2018
– That goal was reached, with the total at 2.04 by the end of December
– 1.13 million Switch units sold in 2018
– That’s in comparison to 911,000 units in 2017
– Sharp increase in sales during the Christmas period
– Nintendo was selling around 100,000 units a week, which was comparable to the Wii
– Switch was the best-selling console in France in 2018
– 3DS sold 254,000 units in 2018
– That’s in comparison to 507,000 units the previous year
– 3DS is now at 5.5 million units total in France
– Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 1.2 million units in France and 700,000 units in 2018

– Super Mario Party was the fifth best-selling game of 2018 in France for physical sales
– Pokemon: Let’s Go was the seventh best-selling game of 2018 in France for physical sales
– Super Mario Odyssey was the eighth best-selling game of 2018 in France for physical sales
– Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the ninth best-selling game of 2018 in France for physical sales
– These games sold over 400,000 copies physically
– Nintendo wants to outperform Switch’s sales in 2018 this year
