Switch update out now (version 14.1.1), patch notes
It’s time to update your Switch once again, as Nintendo has just started distribution of firmware version 14.1.1
As this is a minor update, the patch notes are pretty small. Nintendo only states: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.” Per usual, the Big N didn’t go into specifics.
The 14.1.1 update for Switch follows version 14.1.0, which was made available at the start of the month. That one included new “Platinum Points Notification Settings” in which users are able to be notified about unclaimed points as part of the My Nintendo rewards program. The full patch notes are available here.
The last major firmware update for Switch was version 14.0.0 in March. That one brought about the addition of groups, Nintendo’s answer to folders. This feature allows for software to be arranged and organized on a certain section of the Switch home menu. More information, including the patch notes for version 14.0.0, can be found here.
Regarding Switch update version 14.1.1, it should eventually make its way out to all system owners. That being said, you can manually download the patch now. Visit the system settings, scroll all the way down to the “System” tab, and select “System Update” to begin the process.
