Switch update out now (version 15.0.1), patch notes
Nintendo has just released a new 15.0.1 firmware update for all Switch systems. This follows version 15.0.0, which dropped earlier in the month.
Today’s update primarily targets two specific issues, including Error Code: 2181-1000 and a problem in which screenshots couldn’t be taken in certain scenes.
Patch notes for the Switch version 15.0.1 update are now available from Nintendo. You can read them in full below.
- Resolved an issue causing Error Code: 2181-1000 to appear when playing DLC from a console other than your primary console.
- Resolved an issue preventing screenshots during specific in-game scenes for some games.
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.
As for version 15.0.0, despite being a new number entirely, there wasn’t a whole lot to it. While still not too notable overall, perhaps the biggest thing worth mentioning is that it added support for screenshots within the Nintendo Switch Online application. Other than that, Nintendo moved the location of the Bluetooth Audio menu and threw in the latest system stability improvements. You can read the full patch notes here.
Most users will find that the new update will be downloaded automatically, assuming their system is connected online. However, you can force it by visiting system settings. Simply scroll down to the “System” tab and select the “System Update” option. The process should only take a short while to complete.
